In my post today, I will be quickly introducing a website named Warmshowers. This website is ideal when traveling long-distance on your bicycle while wanting to find a place to spend the night, for free (usually). It is a platform where people from all over the world connect and share their home, yard, farm, couch with biking enthusiasts. Hosts are present in more than 80 countries. I think it could be a great opportunity to connect with local people, exchange stories, gifts, food then continue the adventure.
Whatever the host feels comfortable doing or offering, they will mention it on their profile. Travelers connect through the website or the Warmshowers app. The name came up because, usually, after a long day bikepacking, a warm shower is one of the best things you can be offered by a host.
It is a website I hope to use and explore in the future. I have a few friends that have used it extensively in Europe and their experiences have been memorable.
